To embrace an inclusive and powerful definition of professionalism and leadership that drives civic and cultural responsibility and community service.
The Saipan Young Professionals, a committee of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, is teaming up with the U.S. Marine Corps Activity Guam to establish an official chapter of Toys 4 Tots on Saipan. The members of the Saipan Young Professionals are excited to organize a generous outpouring of toys for our island’s children with the support of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce member businesses and our island community.
“Our goal is to secure a joy-filled holiday season for thousands of less fortunate children on our island. We will be setting up donation boxes at Chamber business establishments. We will also be working with key organizations in our community to ensure that these toys reach those most in need. The holiday season is a joyous time but can be difficult for families less fortunate. We hope that we can band together as a community to make a positive difference in the lives of others” said SYP Co-chair, Beau Tomokane.
Toys for Tots is a national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve that has helped provide happiness and hope to disadvantaged children at Christmas for 65 years. From October to December every year, members of the Marine Forces Reserve, the Marine Corps League of Veterans, and local community organizations collect new and unwrapped toys, books and other gifts for less fortunate children in more than 700 communities across all 50 states. Donated items are distributed to the children most in need with the help of local welfare agencies, churches and other community groups. Last year the Marine Corps fulfilled the holiday hopes and dreams of 7.2 million less fortunate children. Since 1947, over 209 million children have been assisted.
